Birds galore

It always amazes me how different the beach can be each day. This morning, there were many, many birds there.

There were pelicans flying low over the waves, looking for breakfast...

...and plenty of seagulls just hanging out.

My favorites are always the little birds (I don't know what they are - plovers?), running back and forth at the water line, looking for the tiny creatures left behind in the sand as each wave recedes, which (I assume) they find delicious. The seagulls just watch...lazy things!

I also saw a gaggle of geese near the new helipad (I used the beach access ramp at the airport for my beach excursion today, as I do many days).

It was a birdy kind of morning. :)
